Investigators believe someone deliberately set fire to a section of the building that houses staff for a county prosecutor's office in South Jersey early Wednesday.
Police responding to a burglary alarm about 1:30 a.m. at the Cumberland County Prosecutor's Office building on Fayette Street in Bridgeton discovered the fire, NBC10 reported.
The fire destroyed an addition to the main office building, according to police. Firefighters were able to contain the blaze to the addition, located on the south end of the building on what was once an enclosed porch.
Police did not specify why the fire is being investigated as a case of arson.
