Police are looking for the man who jumped the counter of a South Philadelphia store and beat the clerk while robbing the cash register.
The attacker entered City News Tobacco, on the 2600 block of South Franklin Street, around 12:30 p.m. on Dec. 2 and approached the cashier pretending to make a purchase.
When the clerk opened the register, the attacker leaped over the counter, and beat the clerk between swipes at the cash drawer.
The man fled the store with an undetermined amount of cash and fled in an unknown direction, according to police.
The attacker is described as a 20-year-old man with a medium build. He was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and dark pants at the time of the incident.
