Ben Affleck and Matt Damon host fundraiser for senate hopeful Elizabeth Warren

As the race between U.S. Senator Scott Brown and Democratic contender Elizabeth Warren heats up, some of Hollywood’s (and Boston’s) most well known actors are throwing their support behind Warren.

According to a an invite paid for by Warren’s campaign, Ben Affleck and Matt Damon have teamed up with The Office star, and Newton native, John Krasinski, to host a fundraiser for the senate hopeful.

The event, which will be held on a rooftop in California, is being called “A Massachusetts evening in support and celebration of the future U.S. Senator of Massachusetts,” and will run you $1,000 for a single ticket.

Want to co-host the event? It will be run you about $2,500.

The Santa Monica soirée is being held on May 21.

Meanwhile, Brown is still milking his blogs about loving dogs to help bring in some support.

According to MassLive.com, in what’s being dubbed the most expensive senate race to date, Brown has about $15 million in his reelection war chest, compared to about $11 million for Warren.

But in the first quarter of 2012, Warren out-raised Brown, according to reports.
