A Bensalem Township man is accused of intentionally killing his mother by starting a generator inside her home.
Police say 30-year-old Koustantinos Yiambilis started the portable generator inside his mother's apartment at Longmeadow Apartments late Monday night, producing poisonous carbon monoxide fumes, CBS Philly reported. Karen Yiambilis, 59, was pronounced dead at the hospital after she was found unconscious on a bedroom floor.
Koustantinos Yiambilis has been charged with homicide, risking catastrophe and reckless endangerment, among other charges. He was hospitalized and will be jailed without bail.
Police did not reveal a motive.
Residents at four other apartments were evacuated.
