In one of the more creative stunts of the election season, former city comptroller and mayoral hopeful Bill Thompson will campaign for 24 hours straight Thursday in the five boroughs.

Thompson began the campaign marathon at 7:45 a.m. in Staten Island, where he greeted voters alongside members of the United Federation of Teachers, including the union's president, Michael Mulgrew.

Thompson will also meet with voters in the Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens and Manhattan throughout the day.

During some of the campaign events after midnight, Thompson will meet with cab drivers, nurses and workers at the Schuster Meat Corporation, which he will tour at 4:30 a.m. Friday.

Thompson will also attend a 3 a.m. moment of silence in front of Lincoln Houses, where he spent a night with other candidates two weeks ago and where a young woman was shot days later.

His marathon will end in Harlem tomorrow morning.
