A Boston cop who was placed on administrative leave due to a larceny investigation was arrested Friday for allegedly using a police vehicle without authorization, authorities said Sunday.

The Boston Globe reports Patrick Donovan took a police vehicle from the Boston Police Department in Dorchester and drove it to Revere, where he was involved in an incident with his domestic partner.

Donovan, who was hired in 2002, has been on leave since September 2013 after the Internal Affairs Department charged him with a separate incident of larceny. Steps are being taken to terminate his employment, according to a BPD spokeswoman.
