A Boston man suspected of indecent assault and battery was nabbed Saturday afternoon for allegedly stealing an MBTA Green Line rider's cell phone.
Transit Police arrested Dane Mullin, 26, around 3:11 p.m. at Park Street Station Saturday after a T worker notified them of a dispute between Mullin and a fellow rider.
A Green Line rider said Mullin entered the westbound trolley and chose to sit in between him and another female passenger "despite the fact there were several other available seats."
"Prior to this Mullin oddly walked back and forth through the train car before taking a seat," Transit Police said in a statement.
As the train was approaching Park Street, the victim realized his cell phone was missing from his jacket pocket. He suspected Mullin had stolen his phone and confronted him, catching the attention of T officials.
However Mullin denied stealing the phone, and Transit Police did not find it on him.
