Brooklyn teen arrested for multiple robberies, rape attempt

Kalief Jackson, 15, attempted to rape a 34-year-old woman, according to police.

A 15-year-old boy has been charged in a string of recent robberies and a rape attempt in Manhattan, police said.

Kalief Jackson, of Brooklyn, has been charged with attempted rape, sexual abuse, and multiple counts of robbery and burglary.

Police say Jackson approached a 34-year-old victim inside a residential building on East 116th Street early on Sunday and placed his hand over her mouth. He stated that he had a firearm and took her to an isolated part of the building, where he tried to rape her. The victim was able to break free, and Jackson fled.

Jackson is also accused of at least seven robberies between Jan. 15 and Jan. 19. He stole cellphones, cash, a Canada Goose coat, a debit card and a MetroCard, police said.

During one of the robberies, Jackson allegedly touched a 28-year-old victim’s genitals over her clothing and forced her to touch his genitals over his clothing, police said.

Police say Jackson simulated a firearm in some of the robberies. In one incident, the victim said Jackson displayed a firearm.
