The snow is falling in Greater Boston, and it’s not supposed to stop until about midnight.
Metro takes a look at the winter’s latest storm by the numbers:
• As of 11 a.m., 9.3 inches of snow had fallen in Boston, according to the National Weather Service. Quincy reported nearly 7 inches as of 10 a.m. and Melrose reported 8 inches as of 11 a.m.
• More than 19 cars were towed and 138 tickets were issued in Boston for violating the parking ban as of 8:30 a.m.
• Nearly 600 pieces of snow removal equipment had been deployed throughout the city.
• More than 1,100 calls had been placed to the mayor’s 24-hour hotline since midnight.
