Police in Cambridge are investigating a shooting that took place late Monday night not far from the city’s Central Square neighborhood.

Police were called to the area of Main and Windsor streets at about 10:30 p.m. Monday for a report of gunshots.

No one was hit by the gunfire, but two parked cars were struck by the bullets, police said. Multiple shell casings were found in the area.

The shooting did not appear to be random, police said.

Police said witnesses saw a dark-colored SUV fleeing the area at the time of the shooting.
