The Camden man suspected of murdering a former Marine surrendered to authorities Wednesday morning.
Darrell Crone, of the 1200 block of Park Boulevard, strolled into Camden County Police headquarters about 10:30 a.m. and turned himself in, according to the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office.
Crone faces a charge of murder in the shooting death of 27-year-old Timothy Loper Jr.
Loper, a Marine reservist, was trying to break up a fight at a Camden waterfront bar early Sunday when Crone pulled out a gun and started shooting.
CBS reported that Loper, who recently started studying at Rowan University, is survived by a wife and a 6-year-old daughter.
Crone is expected to be arraigned on Thursday.
