A Worcester man who authorities said solicited help online to cook and eat children was sentenced Tuesday to a decades-long prison term.
Geoffrey Portway, 40, a citizen of the United Kingdom, was arrested in 2012 and pleaded guilty to charges including solicitation to commit a crime of violence, distribution of child pornography and possession of child pornography.
Federal prosecutors filed a sentencing memorandum that sought more than 27 years in prison for Portway. A federal judge in Worcester sentenced him to more than 26 years and ordered him to be deported after he serves his sentence, according to the US Attorney’s office.
During a search of Portway’s Worcester home, authorities found a makeshift dungeon that contained a child-size homemade coffin, a restraint table, gags, handcuffs and other bondage items.
Police also found online messages between Portway and other people talking about cannibalism. In the chats, Portway expressed an interest in being eaten and eating children himself.
“I have no minimum age. I would eat a newborn,” Portway said in a chat, according to court documents.
Portway will be sent to a federal prison.
