Today is your chance to get your fill of Phil.
Devout fans are celebrating Phil Collins Day in Greenpoint, Brooklyn today beginning at noon. The annual event appears to have been a tradition since 2007.
This year’s celebration will include a Phil Collins confessional booth. What’s that, you ask? It’s a way for you to “confess your own loves, heartbreaks, obsessions and degradations,” according to the event’s website.
Those confessions will then supposedly be recorded and sent to the singer and former Genesis drummer, who will no doubt delight in reviewing them during his spare time.
“Completely confidential. Only for the eyes of and ears of the man himself,” boasts the event page.
Past celebrations have included dance parties, outdoor movies and parades. The event is scheduled until 10 p.m., but the party could go longer, if there’s something coming in the air tonight….
