Charred body found in trash fire in Brooklyn

Police found a man’s charred body inside a smoldering pile of garbage early this morning in Brooklyn.

Firefighters were called to 2171 Hendrickson Street in Marine Park, Brooklyn, to put out a garbage fire outside a Furniture Zone store.

After they extinguished the blaze, officials found the body of an unidentified white male. It was charred beyond recognition, according to police.

The cause of death and identity of the man is still unknown.

A taxi driver told the New York Daily News that the area is frequented by homeless men, but police declined to comment.
