A Bethlehem man has been charged with shooting and killing his estranged wife Tuesday afternoon, mere hours after a Lehigh County judge extended a protection-from-abuse order barring the man from contacting his children or the homicide victim.
Win Min Htut, 37, is charged with criminal homicide, burglary and criminal trespass in the shooting death of Thida Myint, also 37, 6ABC Action News reported.
Authorities allege Htut shot Myint outside their Central Park Avenue home, which Htut was barred from by court order, about 3:45 p.m. Tuesday. The couple's children -- a 16-year-old girl, a 10-year-old boy and a 3-year-old girl -- reportedly witnessed the shooting, which the older daughter reported.
Htut fled the scene with the 3-year-old girl. He was arrested at a 7-Eleven store in Allentown a short time later. He had flagged down a passing motorist for a ride.
