Police said the allegations of four Feltonville schoolchildren – whose claims a woman leveled a shotgun at them as they walked to school Thursday morning prompted SWAT and Homeland Security units to clear the property and lock down two schools – turned out to be fabricated.
Officers were called to the Feltonville Intermediate School shortly before 9 a.m.
There, four children between the ages of 10 and 13 told investigators they were walking to school when an unknown woman came to the door of a home on the 4600 block of Ella Street and pointed what they believed was a long gun at them.
Two area schools were placed on lockdown as a precaution.
The children pointed out the home to police and responding tactical teams cleared the property. Officers made no arrests and recovered no weapons.
Authorities said the homeowners fully cooperated and were cleared of any wrongdoing.
Further investigation revealed the children made up the story, according to police.
No charges are expected to be filed.
