Philadelphia Flyers center and captain Claude Giroux has reportedly been arrested in Ottawa after an incident involving a police officer, reports are saying.
Giroux, while intoxicated some reports say, grabbed the backside of a male police officer outside the Great Canadian Cabin in the Byward Market club district.
Eyewitnesses say the 26-year-old was seen inside an Ottawa police cruiser around 9 p.m. on July 1. Further reporters indicate the two-time NHL all-star spent the night in jail and will be released today. No charges are expected to be filed.
Giroux has spent his entire professional career so far with the Flyers. Reports say he lives in Ottawa in the off-season.
