CNN broadcasts ‘Election Night in America’ at Faneuil Hall

It’s cold out there, so anyone headed to Faneuil Hall tonight to watch election coverage on a jumbo screen might want to bundle up – or take the edge off with a few blood warming drinks at one of the marketplace’s many bars.

Tonight CNN, Turner Broadcasting System Inc.’s cable news network, will provide a large screen for free public viewing at Faneuil Hall Marketplace, where a never seen before sneak preview of Blink!, a holiday light show, will be on display.

The news network is also live broadcasting from New York City, Chicago, Las Vegas and Los Angeles.

The light-and-sound show will include music by the Boston Pops, and will start its six-week run at Faneuil Hall on Nov. 17.

Blink! includes about 350,000 LED lights, as well as an 85-foot Christmas tree.

In a statement, Mayor Thomas M. Menino said, “CNN’s broadcast from Faneuil Hall Marketplace is an amazing opportunity to showcase this landmark to a national audience.”
