The contents of accused murderer Philip Chism's cellphone have been turned over to the former Danvers High School student's legal team.
According to The Salem News, the information recovered from the broken device filled four CDs. Chism’s attorneys have been granted public funds to hire a professional to examine the contents of the CDs.
On Monday, prosecutor Kate MacDougall filed motions seeking access to information including a map of Danvers High’s security cameras and copies of all documents found in Chism’s locker and backpack.
Chism, 15, is charged with first-degree murder, rape and robbery in last October’s slaying of Danvers High School math teacher Colleen Ritzer, 24, of Andover. He has admitted to the killing, but denied sexually assaulting Ritzer. The next hearing in the case is May 19.
