The Lehigh County couple who allegedly stole police cars in Camden and Philadelphia as part of a crime spree earlier this month are scheduled to appear in court Monday morning.
Two witnesses are expected to testify in the hearing in Philadelphia County Court for Blake Bills and Shayna Sykes, the Macungie residents who face a litany of charges in connection with the March 5 crime spree, The Morning Call of Allentown reports.
Bills, 24, allegedly stole a Camden police cruiser after an officer had exited it during a traffic stop. He is accused of driving the stolen police vehicle directly at the officer before picking up his fiancee and driving over the Ben Franklin Bridge into Philadelphia.
Sykes, 23, allegedly stole an idling Philadelphia police car after Bills had been apprehended. She was arrested after the police car broke down, but not before she had struck three parked cars and knocked over a woman in Northern Liberties.
The couple allegedly stole a car in Philadelphia to get to Camden early March 4, and also attempted to carjack someone in Camden later that same day.
Bills and Sykes face charges in Camden and Philadelphia. They are being held in a Philadelphia jail.
The couple was in Camden to buy heroin, according to authorities.
