A Philadelphia police officer shot and killed a domestic-violence suspect who was holding a knife to his girlfriend's neck Monday night.
The incident occurred about 11 p.m. Monday on the 300 block of West Courtland Street in the city's Feltonville section, NBC10 reports.
The 32-year-old man reportedly slashed his girlfriend's face. When police arrived on scene, he was holding the knife to the 23-year-old woman's neck and refused to drop the weapon.
Police allege the man lunged at officers with the knife before one officer fired his duty weapon several times. The man was pronounced dead a short time later. He had been shot several times in the torso, according to NBC10.
