Police have arrested a Queens man in connection with the attempted rape of a 23-year-old woman walking home from a Flushing bus stop after a Halloween party this month.
David Diaz, 24, allegedly followed the woman after she got off a bus near Melbourne Avenue and Kissena Boulevard and began walking home near Queens College around 5 a.m. on Nov. 1.
Police said Diaz grabbed the woman by the throat, shoved her to the ground, punched her and tried to rip off her clothes. Diaz fled when police said a witness heard the woman’s screams and shouted down that hecalled 911.
The woman had suffered a laceration to her neck and swelling to her forehead, police said.
