Three men will be in court this week after they allegedly were throwing beer cans and urinating from a fire escape of a North End building.

Police said officers were called to 226 Hanover St. just before 1 a.m. Saturday for a report of a party and that people were relieving themselves and throwing beer cans from the balcony.

When officers arrived they saw three men yelling from a fourth-floor fire escape as a large group of people began to gather. Officers told the men they were there and one of them cursed at the officers, police said. One of the men then thew a lit cigarette down at the officers.

Officers went up to the apartment and knocked on the door. One of the men answered and said “Who the (expletive) are you guys,” police said. He then refused to let the officers inside the apartment and allegedly assaulted one of them.

Police arrested that man and a second man who also became combative with officers. A third man was also arrested and officers noted they were the same men who were on the fire escape.

Andrew Leighton, 20, of Lowell, was charged with disturbing the peace, disorderly conduct and assault and battery on a police officer. Kevin Widnizski, 20, of Reading and Rakan Alzaydi, 23 of Quincy were both charged with disorderly conduct and disturbing the peace.

The trio is scheduled to be arraigned on Tuesday.
