A cabbie allegedly ran down a car his girlfriend was riding in and then stabbed her to death on a Bronx highway early Wednesday morning.
Police sources said the 31-year-old taxi driver followed an SUV Katherine German was riding in along Pelham Parkway and struck it, causing the vehicle to overturn on the driver's side.
After the crash, police said the man exited his taxi with a knife.
He allegedly approached the SUV and stabbed German, 20, numerous times while she was still in the crushed car.
Police found German and her companion, who was driving, in the flipped SUV just before 4 a.m. at the entrance ramp to the northbound New England Thruway.
Emergency personnel declared German dead at the scene of the accident. Her friend sustained minor lacerations from the accident but refused medical attention.
The taxi driver was still at the scene of the accident when police arrived.
He was taken into custody and was being questioned by police Wednesday morning.
Police are still trying to determine what led to the incident.
