The city’s ten now-closed Curves gyms will have to reimburse members who lost money when the gyms abruptly shuttered in 2009.
Attorney General Eric Schneiderman announced a $100,000 reimbursement fund yesterday that the state negotiated with Curves International.
“If you do business in New York, then you have to play by the rules,” Schneiderman said.
One exerciser in the Bronx paid $420 for a full year’s membership, an Attorney General’s office spokeswoman said, losing it all when Curves shut down 60 locations in New York state.
Customers can call the Better Business Bureau at 212-358-2857 to find out if they’re entitled to a refund.
