Standing at only 4-feet-11 inches, Cherry Clinton’s ear could barely reach the hole in the protective glass she stood behind as prosecutors described how she allegedly stabbed her boyfriend in the heart, killing him.
Clinton, 29, took an 8-inch knife and plunged it into her boyfriend’s chest with such force that it ripped through his jacket, sweatshirt, rib cage and lung before entering his heart, prosecutors said during her arraignment yesterday. Her boyfriend, Lancelot Reid, 23, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The stabbing followed an argument Friday morning in a Dorchester apartment. Clinton alleged that Reid assaulted her earlier and that she was holding the knife when he ran into it, attorneys said.
Reid’s relatives said they were not sure what led to the fight and that Reid was a “good kid, not a fighter.” Clinton was ordered held without bail.
