Two years ago Dallas Wiens didn't have a face.
Now, the 27-year-old has a face and a new wife.
Wiens, who was the recipient of the nation's first full face transplant at Brigham and Women's Hospital, was married Saturday during a ceremony in Texas.
Wiens married 29-year-old Jamie Nash during a ceremony at the same church where he came into contact with high voltage lines and severely burned his face, according to the Dallas Morning News.
Nash suffered burns on 70 percent of her body after a single-car crash. The couple met in a support group for burn survivors.
Wiens underwent the procedure in 2011. Since then, doctors at the hospital, led by Dr. Bohdan Pomahac, have completed multiple face transplants.
A year after his procedure, Wiens spoke to reporters and talked about what it was like to finally feel his daughter kiss his face again.
"I remember the first time she kissed me on the lower part of my cheek. It was a very cool sensation. As soon as she did it I basically broke into tears of joy," he said at the time.
