Delaware State Police on Friday arrested a Milford man for allegedly possessing 1,181 bags of heroin stamped with the brand name "Obama."
Police said troopers patrolling in the area of Biddles Toll Plaza around 2 p.m. performed a routine traffic stop on a Cadillac Deville that was traveling over the speed limit.
The car was allegedly driven by Andre Waters, 24.
Investigators said a K-9 dog sniffed out illegal drugs during a search of the vehicle.
Troopers then found in the car's center console a plastic bag containing 90 bundles of heroin packaged into 1,181 smaller bags stamped "Obama 2" with an American flag, according to authorities.
Officials estimate the heroin – totaling 29.5 grams – to have a street value of $12,000.
Troopers also recovered from Waters $555 in cash, which they believe to be the proceeds of street-level drug transactions.
Waters was taken into custody without incident.
He is charged with possession of heroin, possession with the intent to deliver and speeding.
Waters is currently jailed at the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution in lieu of $60,001 cash bond.
Police continue to investigate the incident.
