Delays continue on Metro-North’s New Haven line

Some Metro-North riders are being encouraged to stay home or seek alternate transportation today after Wednesday’s power failure.

Limited bus and train service was available this morning, but could accommodate only about a third of the regular ridership on the New Haven Line, according to the MTA.

Con Edison crews are on scene in Mount Vernon, where a feeder cable failed about 5:30 a.m. yesterday. A second feeder that normally provides service to the New Haven Line was also out of service for scheduled repairs, the MTA said.

Metro-North says customers should expect crowded conditions today.

New Haven line tickets will continue to be honored on the Harlem line.

Bus service will be provided on the Waterbury branch, and limited shuttle train service will operate on the Danbury and New Canaan Branches.

Detailed information about Thursday’s commute is available on the MTA’s website. A map of the limited service is available here.
