Allegations of serious misconduct by a teacher at Franklin High School have caused an uproar in the Norfolk County town.
While the first day of the 2013-2014 school year swung into action Monday, the Franklin Public Schools administration is staying mum on a "disturbing incident" involving a teacher at Franklin High.
The school administration, which said in a statement that it is “devastated by hearing of this allegation,” did not actually reveal what the allegation is.
“The alleged incident is disturbing and does not reflect the expectations we espouse as a school district or as a community,” the statement read.
The teacher was not named, and has been placed on paid administrative leave. The Department of Children, Youth and Families was also notified, the statement read.
Despite the administration's attempt to reassure parents that students are safe at the school, word is traveling fast via social media.
“It's all over Twitter, Facebook, everywhere, everybody heard about it,” former Franklin High School student Andy Dean told WHDH.
