The slaying of Audilia Daveiga, the Dorchester mother of two whom police believe was murdered by her boyfriend Saturday, was the ninth homicide related to domestic violence in the state this year.

According to Jane Doe Inc., an advocacy organization, seven of those victims were female while two were male.

Nine alleged perpetrators of domestic violence, according to that group, that has ended in homicide have also died either by way of suicide or so-called “suicide by police.”

With the exception of one instance, wherein the male stalker of the victim’s wife is alleged to have killed someone, all of those homicides were allegedly perpetrated by a former or current significant other of the victim.
