Police are searching for the car involved in a deadly hit-and-run in Dorchester.
About 8 p.m. on Tuesday, officers responded to a call of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle in the area of 1485 Dorchester Ave.
Boston paramedics attempted to treat the male victim at the scene, then transported him to Boston Medical Center. He was later pronounced dead at the hospital. No further information regarding the victim's identity was immediately available.
The driver of the vehicle that struck the victim did not stop after hitting him, and fled the area on Adams Street towards Park Street, according to the Boston Police Department. Police are searching for a late-model Toyota Camry or Nissan Maxima that may have been responsible for the accident.
The incident is under active investigation by the Homicide Unit and Accident Reconstruction Team.
