Two Lancaster men were hit with armed bank robbery charges, said the U.S. Department of Justice, after the duo robbed a Berks County bank at gunpoint and tried to rob another bank in York County.
Kyle Costello, 27, and Matthew Hill, 29, were further charged with conspiracy to commit armed bank robbery, carrying and using a firearm and aiding and abetting. Hill has been additionally charged with attempted bank robbery.
The two robbed a National Penn Bank, armed with weapons, on Lancaster Pike in Shillington on Nov. 7 last year. A month later, on Dec. 6, both tried to rob Susquehanna Bank on East Market Street in York.
The men face at least seven years in prison and a fine of up to $1 million, officials said.
