A Fall River teenager is under arrest after police discovered he was the creator of a lewd Facebook page.
The 17-year-old boy, whose name has not been released, will be charged with dissemination of obscene material harmful to minors and possessing child pornography, the Taunton Gazette reports.
The page, titled "Fall River Hooters," showed naked photos of area teens.
Fall River Mayor William Flanagan took to his Facebook page on Thursday evening to express his gratitude regarding the discovery of the person responsible for the page.
"I want to commend the citizens on Facebook who came forward to make me aware of a horrific and graphic Facebook page regarding children," Flanagan wrote. "The page has been reported to law enforcement."
"I am relieved the suspect is in custody and will be brought to justice," Mayor Flanagan also said in prepared remarks. "I commend the FRPD for their swift, competent and thorough investigation. As mayor, I remind the community to monitor your children's social media use and keep our children safe from these terrible crimes."
