A family was forced from its Mount Airy home early Monday by a fire that took Philadelphia firefighters more than an hour to bring under control.
The blaze on the 100 block of Washington Lane started about 1:15 a.m., 6ABC Action News reported. It started in one side of a twin home before spreading to another.
A family of five was displaced by the fire. One victim was treated for smoke inhalation.
The Red Cross was providing the displaced family with assistance.
Firefighters declared the fire under control about 2:30 a.m. The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
