UPDATE: Reports of a blaze that broke out on the 88th floor of 1 WTC this morning turned out to be a false alarm.
According to the FDNY, more than 84 firefighters responded to the building around 7:45 a.m. An FDNY official told Metro a caller reported seeing smoke and flames coming from the building. Upon further investigation, it was determined that some torch work had been the source of the smoke and flames.
Officials concluded that no fire took place.
No one was inside the building when the incident was reported and no one was injured.
