Former exec took from Red Cross

A former Suffolk County American Red Cross executive is accused of looting the organization for $274,000 over a four-year period before leaving the company in 2009.

Deborah Leggio, 47, spent the cash on nail salon appointments, pricey meals and her son’s college tuition. Leggio, the former Coram resident who now lives in California, faces a maximum sentence of five to 15 years in prison if convicted of second-degree grand larceny.
