A Foxboro woman was in the hospital and her husband under arrest, facing charges in an apparent case of domestic violence.

Foxboro police arrested Glen Saltis, 49, on Monday after he allegedly used an object to beat his wife, Julie, inside the couple’s home on Ridge Road.

WCVB-TV reported that the victim escaped to a friend’s home before collapsing.

Officers pulled Saltis out of the Neponset Reservoir behind his home before taking him into custody.

Saltis was scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday on charges of domestic assault and battery and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, according to the Sun Chronicle.

The victim’s condition was not released. WCVB reported that she is in a medically-induced coma at Rhode Island Hospital.

Saltis is Foxboro’s official electrical inspector, according to the town’s website.

The couple was reportedly in the process of getting a divorce. They have two children.
