A freight train derailed in the Port Richmond section of Philadelphia early Wednesday morning, blocking traffic at Aramingo and Castor avenues.
Conrail told 6ABC Action News that three tanker cars derailed about 3 a.m. The cars were reportedly carrying acetone, a flammable chemical.
Police were diverting traffic off Aramingo Avenue hours after the derailment, but Castor Avenue remained open.
It is not clear what caused the train to derail. No injuries were reported, and it does not appear any chemicals spilled.
