At a vigil in the children's honor held Friday evening at the Franklin Town Common, a large group of people gathered together to listen to music, hold candles and released balloons into the air.
A friend of the family who attended high school with the Monroe children's father created a GoFundMe page to raise money for the Monroes. As of Monday morning, the page had already gathered $27,450.
"I am hoping we all can come together and give anything to help support them through this trying time and help to lighten some of the cost," said page creator Dawn Marquis. "I understand times are tough for us all and any small amount will help and prayers are always welcome."
In the children's obituary published on the Ginley Funeral Home website, Lexi is remembered for her love of dancing and singing, and playing with her favorite doll, Julia. Sean loved Lego Star Wars, going fishing and eating marshmallow fluff. Both were students at Davis Thayer School in Franklin.
