A 3-year-old girl was struck and killed by an SUV in Queens on Sunday while crossing the street with her grandmother.
Police say Allison Liao and her grandmother were walking eastbound on Cherry Avenue in Flushing and were attempting to cross Main Street about 5:30 p.m.
The child was struck by a 2000 Nissan SUV that was also traveling eastbound on Cherry Avenue as it turned left onto Main Street.
The driver remained on the scene, police said.
Liao was taken to Booth Memorial Hospital, where she was pronounced dead on arrival. The investigation is ongoing.
