A 24-year-old homeless man has been charged with rape, robbery and other charges after he allegedly forced his way into three Brooklyn apartments on Monday night.

Edgar Marrero allegedly raped a 27-year-old woman after he knocked her unconscious inside her apartment on Berry Street in Williamsburg at about 8 p.m., police said. When the woman woke up and started screaming, Marrero fled with a cell phone and laptop.

Marrero struck again about two hours later when he attempted to rape a 40-year-old woman inside an apartment in the vicinity of Russell Street and Driggs Avenue. The woman was saved by her husband who fought off the attacker. Marrero fled with the woman’s cell phone.

Just 20 minutes later, Marrero approached a woman, 44, who was securing a bicycle to a pole on Kingsland Avenue, struck her in the face with a bag and sexually assaulted her.

Marrero barged into a third apartment on Norman Avenue at about 10:20 p.m. and forced a 37-year-old woman onto the couch. The woman’s screams alerted her roommate who came in and fought off Marrero. He stole a cellphone and laptop from the apartment.

Police found Marrero sleeping in the hallway of an apartment building on Nassau Street. He has been charged with rape, attempted rape, burglary, robbery, forcible touching and sexual abuse.
