An 80-year-old man was assaulted by a homeless woman inside the Port Authority Bus Terminal on Saturday morning, officials said.

The elderly victim was on the second floor of the bus terminal’s north wing around 7:30 a.m., waiting outside the female restroom for his wife, when he was the target of an unprovoked assault, a Port Authority spokesperson said.

The woman, identified as 40-year-old Danika Riley, stomped on the victim’s head and kicked him with her work boots before Port Authority officers intervened and arrested her.

The victim was treated at the scene by EMS.

Riley was charged with assault and criminal possession of a controlled substance after she was found to be carrying a crack pipe, police said. She has an extensive criminal record that includes assault and battery of a police officer and an escape from an Oklahoma penitentiary in 1994.
