Mayoral candidate Anthony Weiner has collected nearly $830,000 in campaign contributions since entering the race in May, with his well-connected wife acting as his top fundraiser, according to campaign finance data released Monday night.
Weiner's wife Huma Abedin raised $149,440 as a bundler in the last two months, according to the data.
Abedin, a longtime aide to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, pulled in a total of 75 donations for her husband, with at least 20 of them being for the maximum donation allowed by the city's campaign finance rules, New York Daily News reports.
Weiner has collected hundreds of thousands dollars more than any other candidate since May, according to the News.
A new Quinnipiac University poll out on Monday revealed that Weiner now leads City Council Speaker Christine Quinn in the mayoral race 25 to 22 percent.
