The Boston cop working the Red Sox bullpen Sunday night who was just as excited to see David Oritz tie the game as everyone else has become an Internet star for his celebration.

Boston Police Superintendent-in-Chief Daniel Linskey identified the cop as Officer Steve Horgan.

The video and picture of Horgan’s two-armed and jumping celebration has gone viral. It’s been retweeted by Red Sox owner John Henry’s wife, Linda Pizzuti, and featured on the“Today” show. MLB.com has also posted a clip of the game-tying grand slam.

Boston police said on Monday morning that Horgan was not available for comment, but ESPN Boston talked to the veteran Boston cop after the game.

“I couldn’t even hear myself it was so loud,” he said.
