Jon Bon Jovi returned home today to extend a gift to his needy statesmen.
The pop icon handed the state's First Lady a $1 million donation to the Hurricane Sandy New Jersey Relief Fund outside the borough hall in his hometown of Sayreville.
New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie that while the state can be the butt of many jokes, "Certain things they can never take away from us."
In Bon Jovi, Christie said, the state takes pride in those who "Never take New Jersey away from themselves."
Christie added that the state will give the homeowners ravaged by the storm the option: they can stay and rebuild their homes or take a buyout and move away.
Mary Pat Christie said about 29,000 people world-wide have donated about $38 million for Sandy Relief Fund.
