A terminal at LaGuardia Airport was evacuated Tuesday because of a smoking package officials later said was not hazardous.
The Delta flight the bag was being loaded onto was called back to the gate and officials evacuated terminal C as a precaution around 11:20 a.m., according to NBC 4 New York.
The bag was spotted by ramp workers and never made it onto the Virginia-bound plane. According to Wall Street Journal reporter Pervaiz Shallwani, authorities later determined the package was not hazardous.
The plane readied for its scheduled departure shortly after the bag was found. Passengers were let back into the terminal around 1 p.m.
