A Lawrence fire ripped through a multi-family home Sunday, leaving 12 homeless and seriously injuring a 10-year-old boy.
The early evening fire started in the basement of the three-family home. Deputy Fire Chief John Marsh told the Eagle Tribune that the cause is being investigated.
The home did not suffer significant damage beyond a bit of smoke. The child was taken to a local hospital to be treated for burns and is expected to recover.
