Police have arrested the live-in girlfriend of 59-year-old Peter Miles, who was fatally stabbed Friday morning inside his home on the 5300 block of Poplar Street.

Miles’ 38-year-old stepson discovered his body shortly after 9 a.m. Friday during a welfare check.

Carolyn Harris, 37, who police said lived at the same residence, was taken into custody and is charged with murder and weapons offenses for allegedly stabbing Miles at least three times in the chest.

Investigators believe a domestic dispute led to the slaying.

Harris is already on probation after pleading guilty last year to solicitation and controlled substance possession.

Her lengthy rap sheet also includes multiple convictions for prostitution, as well as contempt of court, simple assault and possessing instruments of crime.

Harris was in 2000 sentenced to 12 months in prison plus time served after pleading guilty to the purchase and possession of controlled substances.

She has not yet been arraigned on the most recent charges, according to court documents.
