Police are searching for a livery cab driver who they said fatally stabbed a man and wounded another in Woodside, Queens, Saturday.

Isaac Martinez, 26, and a friend left a bodega on Roosevelt Ave. in Woodside around 5 a.m. with two six-packs of beer when they hailed a cab, sources told The New York Daily News.

Martinez and his 33-year-old friend were said to be drunk when they tried to enter the vehicle.

The driver got out of the car, grabbed a baseball bat and went to the backseat where Martinez’ unidentified friend was sitting. The driver hit the man in the head, causing it to split in two.

The driver retrieved a knife from the front seat and stabbed the man in the chest.

When the driver tried to go back into the front seat, Martinez attempted to stop him. The driver stabbed him in the chest and threatened another witness, according to the Daily News.

The cabbie, who police said was wearing a white t-shirt and blue jeans, drove away as the witness threw a bottle at the car and smashed the rear windshield. Police said the vehicle is a dark older model sedan with decals.

Martinez and the other man collapsed on the sidewalk. They were both taken to Elmhurst Hospital where Martinez was pronounced dead on arrival.

The other man is in stable condition.

As of Sunday morning, police were still searching for the driver. He is believed to be either Hispanic or Asian with dark hair.

Police urge anyone with information to call NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.
